The six-step case
No single step proves every later step. A strong case becomes clearer when each claim is tested at the level it actually addresses.
The universe contains changing, dependent things. Describing how they interact does not by itself explain why this whole dependent reality exists. A necessary, non-dependent source is a stronger stopping point than saying the entire universe is simply an unexplained fact.
Compare the two stopping points fairly: an unexplained dependent universe, or a necessary source able to ground it.
The ultimate source cannot depend on matter, time, parents, or partners in the way created things do. Islam gives this idea its clearest form: God is One, self-sufficient, neither born nor begetting, and nothing is comparable to Him.
Read the four verses of Al-Ikhlas and ask whether any simpler, more coherent concept of God is possible.
If the Creator made rational and morally responsible people, communication about purpose and accountability is not an alien addition to the world. The question is not whether revelation is possible, but how a genuine revelation can be distinguished from human invention.
Judge a revelation claim by coherence, moral vision, historical setting, transmission, and the character of its messenger—not by one impressive sentence.
The Qur’an presents a public claim in Arabic, calls readers to examine its coherence and form, and has an unusually early manuscript record alongside a living recitation tradition. Early evidence supports serious investigation; it should not be exaggerated into claims the evidence cannot carry.
Read a complete short surah, compare its central message across the whole Qur’an, then inspect the manuscript and transmission evidence directly.
Islam does not ask for belief in a disembodied text. The claim includes a messenger, a public mission, costly opposition, a community, law, worship, and a message sustained over twenty-three years. The fair test is to compare deception, delusion, borrowing, and genuine prophethood against the whole record.
Do not decide from a praise text or a hostile clip. Examine the earliest sources, the strongest moral objections, and the message as a whole.
A cumulative case is tested by reading, questioning, and living close enough to the claim to understand it. Islam rejects coerced faith. Begin with Al-Fatihah and Al-Ikhlas, ask hard questions, and—if you are willing—ask the Creator sincerely to guide you to truth.

Its truth claim rests on convergence: uncompromising monotheism, a rational place for revelation, a public Arabic scripture with early textual evidence and living recitation, a historically embodied prophetic claim, and a worldview that joins worship, reason, mercy, and final justice.
